Milford has a strong and ongoing commitment to Research and Development. Our team of Engineers, Design Specialists, CAD Drafters, Testing Officers & Development Technicians have over 60 years of collective experience in Vehicle Load Restraint
product development, and in doing so, provide a wide range of technical support and design solutions to meet the diverse needs of our OE customers.

While our core focus is on VLR (vehicle load restraint) products for the automotive market, we also develop speciality products for use
in the Defence, Surveillance, Law, Mining and Mobility sectors.

At Milford we work hard to develop proven, product solutions by working very closely with OEM engineers and ‘end users’ in order to ascertain their specifications, requirements and needs.

                   

Our core capabilities include Industrial Design, CAD modelling, FEA (Finite Element Analysis), Mould Flow Analysis, Fatigue / NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harmonics) Analysis, DFMEA (Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis), High Speed Photography (up to 1000 FPS), 3D CMM laser scanning capability, file conversions for rapid prototyping, native CAD file sharing, programming of Computerised Numerical Control equipment, material selection and analysis, plus data logging.

                         

We follow a ‘whole of life’ design philosophy for all products developed along with a heightened focus on matters relating to substances of concern, recycling and embedded carbon footprint of manufacture.

Our most recent investments in 3D CMM laser scan, state of the art CAD packages and photographic equipment enables portable and seamless design flow
from just about anywhere. Importantly, enhanced interoperability with OE CAD packages such as Catia, Solidworks and Unigraphics
as also been achieved as part of this upgrade. As a result, Milford can provide the most streamlined development service possible.
